Hey team,
This thread is meant to open the discussion on processes for our Productions Department. For the time being, it seems we all have somewhat nebulous roles in Production. Nick C is the De Facto Department Head, but he is not a part of the current proposed partnership agreement for reasons we have discussed before. Nick D, Liz, and I all have our own areas in the company, but they are completely separate from the Productions Department. Also, we are all potential writers, directors, and producers. My equipment is always available, and we can always see if Eduardo is able to assist with audiography.
Also, I have mentioned that, as we evolve, our needs and resources will change; thus my suggestion to establish processes specific to our needs and resources. We have an Art Department in Element Light, to whom we typically contract our our production design and art functions. It seems as we have gone along, the procedure has been to follow the leader (the producer, who tends to be the writer and/or director).
All of that in mind, I think it would be helpful to establish an assessment test for potential and green-lit projects. It should evaluate the physical, casting, and staffing needs of the production. From there, we should have a process for fulfilling those needs, and standardizing it will give us a good starting place, as well as a healthy amount of policy direction to get our productions moving efficiently.
I will get to work on a proposal for an outline for evaluating our needs.
Please let me know what you think.
Thank you
